post questions here,and I will edit this with answers to any UE3 questions.. also any discoveries I make during my journey.



Q - How do I add/import textures?
A - Textures need to be Power of Two (512x512,1024x1024,1024x512,etc) open editor,click view tab,Browser Windows,Geniric-opens up new window,in new window click file,import,select texture,fill in info,and check "create material" save file.. use .mat created to apply textures..

Light Facts-
. Ambient lighting is now called skylight - placeable actor in actor browser..



UnCooking maps-

took me a bit,but I believe this will work fine..correct me if you find better way PLEASE :P

Place the map outside of the My Games folder. (Desktop,or someshit) Make sure to rename it different from Orig. before opening it..

Open map,and save as.. you will get error..Ambiguous Package,or whatever.. ignore it,and hit ok..

now.. "build all" on the map,and this will kill the Ambiguous Package errors..

you will now have uncooked map in My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Unpublished\CookedPC\CustomMaps folder.



General Bugs.
-some converted have wall thickness under 32.. this makes textures show up black.. one solution is to convert to staticmesh..

LOL This seems more appropriate :p lol I've looked online and got the jist of UT3 editor, from here out I'm just exploring and working with what I find

Also I was wondering if it got any easier to import static meshes from 3DS/Zbrush into UE3?

Looks like it just fell in the wrong position, bones can get twisted and make em flop around etc..

its more or less same way as postal so take a goosey gander(heh i love been british) at video tut's ive done

I just realized I had to save the map as "DM-(whatever)" lol and there were some like DM=Death Match VCTF=Vehicle Capture The Flag CTF=Capture The Flag and TDM=Team Death Match
(I think those are it anyways) but here's a bit for the jump pad:
